Lots to be happy about! My father and stepmother are in the Philippines right now--they are safe from the huge typhoon, and were able to give books to kids in barrio programs. Books went to children such as these, and also to a Mommy and Me preschool class for families struggling with illiteracy. Thanks to Lisa Gus, who works for a nonprofit organization, for sharing the books in this way, and to my stepmother Catherine Roseberry for hauling them to the Philippines in her suitcase!
