1,800 Books Donated to Children in Yolo County

A family who received books at the Yolo Family Resource Center
at Marguerite Montgomery Elementary School spends family time outdoors
reading books from the "Love-Talk-Read" Children's Book Drive.

Expansion of the "Love-Talk-Read" Children's Book Drive to serve families in Yolo County is a huge success thanks to very generous donations from the Yolo County community.  Approximately 1,800 books have been given to about a dozen agencies serving Davis, Woodland, West Sacramento, Esparto, Yolo, Clarksburg and Knight's Landing.

Nora Shimoda, Associate Director of the "Love-Talk-Read" Children's Book Drive
delivered 15 boxes of books to Regan Overholt, First 5 CommissionYolo, Early Learning Program Officer.

The staff from all of the agencies that have been distributing books say the children are so excited to receive them.  We are so happy to be supplying the books to promote early reading and school readiness!
What an eager reader.  This toddler couldn't wait to read his book.
We are so happy this "Glitter Castle My Little Pony" book has found a
great home with this young reader.
